I participated in this package as part of my 3-day trip in Langkawi.

If catching the sunset on the yacht sounds like your thing, then this is the activity for you. The Langkawi sunset cruise and dinner is an experience that combines relaxation and adventure over the Andaman Sea.

This experience was a highlight for me as it brought us a long a scenic journey along the island’s coast, providing us views of limestone cliffs and emerald waters as the sun sets over the Andaman Sea. Many tours include a barbecue dinner and free-flowing drinks, lasting just about 4 hours and costs about SGD 90.

You can check companies like Crystal Yacht Holidays or Langkawi Sunset Cruise for options. For the most seamless booking experience, considering booking through Klook below -

To get true value for money, go for the Langkawi pass which allows you to include up to 5 other attractions for your visit at a discounted price. Prior to the trip, the operator will reach out to you to provide details. Our journey began at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, a dock just a short distance from Kuah Town.

Arrive early and you can spend some time soaking in the atmosphere of the yacht club, although there isn't nothing much to see here. Read on to find out about what the activity entails, or check out this tiktok video I uploaded.

After registration, we were introduced to the yacht crew, who led us down to our vessel for the evening — a sleek two-level yacht. The yacht’s main deck provides ample seating with shaded areas, while the upper deck had some bean bags for us to sprawl all over. We were also introduced to the amenities onboard, including a fully stocked bar offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and clean restroom facilities for a comfortable journey.

We were quick to grab ourselves a mocktail each:

Once everyone is settled in, the yacht set sail and we were off for our journey. The yacht would first stop at Eagle Square, an iconic Langkawi monument and a favourite photo spot for visitors. We stopped close enough to get a decent photo of the Eagle Statue.

The yacht then continues its journey further along the Andaman Sea. Along the way, we got to experience an unconventional feature: the moving jacuzzi. This setup involves laying down a sturdy rope net off the back of the yacht, creating a floating platform in the water. As the yacht cruises at a slow pace, guests are invited to lay down on the net and enjoy the sensation of being gently pulled along. The “jacuzzi” effect comes from the soothing movement of the water as the yacht glides.

After another 30 minutes, we anchored at a spot, and were given about an hour to participate in a range of water activities. Options include yacht jumps, where you can leap off the yacht into the sea, as well as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The crew provides all necessary equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Currents that day were relatively strong, and we were advised not to veer off too far, which surely added an adventurous touch to our cruise.

After that, we carried on to prepare for the key segment of the evening: the sunset. The sky began to shift to hues of pink and orange. The yacht slowed to a stop at a position that provided a great view of the horizon, and was a serene and unforgettable moment of the day.

Finally, as twilight sets in, the yacht begins its return journey to the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, bringing the cruise full circle. The sunset cruise and dinner was a great experience which introduced the natural beauty of Langkawi, and set the perfect tone for our days ahead, where we explored island hopping around Pulau Dayang Bunting.
